The Promotion and Discipline Department is the regulatory body for human resources within the Unified Local Government Service. It is responsible for the career progression of staff, handling promotions, conversions, and changes of cadre to ensure that merit and experience are rewarded appropriately.

Parallel to advancement, the department enforces the code of conduct. It handles all disciplinary matters, ensuring that the workforce maintains high standards of professionalism. It also manages the complex logistics of staff postings, advancements, and the merger of services across the state.

Career & Conduct

The department’s scope covers the entire Unified Local Government Service across all 44 Local Government Areas. This centralized management ensures that promotion criteria and disciplinary measures are applied uniformly and fairly to all staff, regardless of their location.

In terms of Career Advancement, the department processes appeals and reviews cases for conversion. This allows staff members who have acquired additional qualifications or skills to move into new cadres where their talents can be better utilized for the state’s benefit.

The Disciplinary Unit within the department ensures accountability. It investigates infractions and implements appropriate sanctions where necessary, while also serving as an avenue for appeals, protecting the rights of employees against unfair treatment.

The supervising authority for the 44 Local Government Areas and the Emirate Council, ensuring effective administration and grassroots development across the state.
